I stopped at Magruder’s on Friday on my way home from work to pick up some beer for the weekend (September 19-20).  I was looking for some good session beer that I could enjoy while watching the footballs games.

I grabbed a case of Old Dominion Brewing Company beers, formerly brewed nearby in Virginia but now brewed out of Dover, DE.  It was a great deal at $23.99 a case, and Magruder’s lets you mix and match six packs to build your own case so you can get some variety.  I built mine with two six packs of Dominion Octoberfest, one six-pack of Dominion Ale, and one six-pack of Dominion Hop Mountain Pale Ale.

I always go for the hoppier brews, so it’s no surprise that the Hop Mountain Pale Ale was my favorite.  The Dominion Ale was an easy drinking English-style ale, and I enjoyed the Octoberfest too.  No stand-outs here, but you can’t beat the price.
