Devils Backbone Adventure Pack Hop Pack

Another entry in my occasional series of posts about variety 12-packs…

I love variety 12-packs. And I love a variety of variety 12-packs. Which is why I love Devils Backbone Brewing Company, which is always releasing a new mixed Adventure Pack. My latest find from this Lexington, VA-based brewery is the Hop Pack.

Beers: This Hop Pack features three “Rare Series” IPAs and the flagship IPA

  • Juniper IPA, a juniper and gin botanical-infused IPA with flavors of juniper, citrus, and pine (8.2%, 65 IBU)
  • UK IPA, an English-style IPA hopped with English hops and fermented with English yeast for classic character (6.7%, 60 IBU)
  • Baracus, a Double India Brown Ale with resin, citrus, and pine hop flavor from intense hopping and dry hopping. Pity the fools who don’t like Baracus! (9.6%, 64 IBU)
  • Eight Point IPA, Devils Backbone’s flagship IPA, first brewed when the brewery opened in 2008, is a bold blend of citrus and pine notes (6.2%, 70 IBU)

Favorite Beer: Wow! These brews represent a variety of styles and are all excellent, so it’d be too hard to call one my favorite.

Where I found it: In the beer cooler at the Harris Teeter in Arlington, Virginia.

And oh by the way – from the Boa Beer Blog archive: I found these pictures of a Devils Backbone Adventure Pack Collaboration Sampler from 2015, that never made it to the blog (so many beers, so little time)…

This sampler pack featured beers brewed in collaboration with Fat Head’s Brewery (OH), Ninkasi Brewing Company (OR), and Coronado Brewing Company (CA).
