The highlight of my beer tour of Barcelona was my visit to Edge Brewing!
Before my trip, I used RateBeer.com to make a list of Barcelona beer destinations, and I put Edge Brewing at the top of my list. It did not disappoint!
I had really been looking forward to visiting the brewery, especially after exchanging emails with a friendly brewery rep who kept me informed of events at the brewery. Four days into my trip, I finally made it Edge, where I was treated to a tour by the enthusiastic head brewer, Alan Sheppard.
Even though I had been finding and tasting Edge brew all over Barcelona during my trip, I really wanted to taste it at the source. After a tour of the brewery, I sampled the line-up of Edge brews in the large, comfortable tasting room:
- Downtown Brown (5.0%)
- Barretina Amber (4.8%)
- Taronja HoRyezon (IPA, 7.0%)
- Padrino Porter (6.9%)
- Flor De La Vida Pale (5.0%)
Edge was founded by two Americans to bring the American craft beer revolution to Barcelona, and I was so happy to find excellent American-style craft beer in Barcelona. I mean, I could only drink so much Estrella!
