Part 10: Sweetwater Tavern, Sterling, Virginia
When Visited: January 25, 2014
Occasion: Hockey — when I found out my son had a hockey game in Ashburn, Virginia, I made plans to have dinner after the game at Sweetwater Tavern, just a few miles from the ice arena. The dinner was a victory celebration — the Rockville Rockets beat the Ashburn Selects 6-3, and the sweet taste of victory made the house-brewed beers taste even better!
Beers Sampled: Since I had two growlers to fill and it had been two year since I visited Sweetwater, I ordered the sampler rack:

I Filled my Growlers with: Great American Pale Ale and St. Nick’s Weizenbock
Beyond the beer, I love the food at Sweetwater. The Fried Chicken Tenders platter, served with fries, cole slaw, and honey mustard dipping sauce, is one of my favorite dishes at any brewpub in the DMV.
