I capped off the spring beer-drinking season on the last day of April at the Capitol City Brewing Company’s 3rd Annual Mid-Atlantic Spring Beer Festival. I love the location of this street festival, which is held in the cozy confines of Shirlington Village. Cap City’s spring beer fest isn’t as big as their Oktoberfest, but there were still plenty of brews to sample from around the DMV.

I arrived early to pick up my press pass and scout the beer tents. There are so many new breweries opening in Maryland and Virginia, and I split my beer sampling tickets between new breweries and old favorites.

All told, I sampled 11 beers from 10 breweries. Certainly not my most prolific festival, but not bad for only an hour and a half of tasting time. I also needed time for an order of classic poutine from the Urban Poutine food truck!
